More Info -

At last, a writing course for vampire writers! One you can sink your fangs into! This level 1 course offers both information on writing fiction, and information on vampires, including historical and mythological information written by Rob Brautigam, noted European vampire expert and publisher of the highly acclaimed and respected journal INTERNATIONAL VAMPIRE. Over the five lessons, you will learn to create a unique nosferatu, determine the vampire appeal to both readers and to other characters, find a plot worthy of your bloodsucker, determine which point of view suits your story, and heighten the archetypal power of your undead. Classes and assignments focus on essential fiction techniques like characterization; plotting; point of view; dialogue; as well as looking at the archetypal energy of the vampire and how to best utilize it to create powerful fiction. Completed assignments will be critiqued in a way that allows you to construct or rework short stories and novels.

Student Comments -

Leah Harjo - This is a great site, and I am, actually, finding that the lessons sharpened my writing skills and I'm using the various techniques taught on my long road to being a professional author. I will remember to thank Ms. Nancy Kilpatrick for her time and patience some day.

Liisa Ladouceur - Writing Vampire Fiction 1 offers excellent exercises for improving fiction techniques and Nancy Kilpatrick is a friendly instructor who gives thoughtful personal feedback and good insight into horror/vampire genre. Overview of vampires in history and literarture OK for beginners. Recommended.
