More Info - This course is for teachers and parents particularly, but will also be useful to anyone involved in supporting young people. The course covers the basics of Social and Emotional Learning - what it is; why it is important in parenting and teaching. It also provides information on the concept of Emotional Intelligence and how it affects behavior and learning. Participants will understand the connection between emotions and learning and therefore how to remove the emotional blocks to learning in their students. This combines some basic aspects of counseling in the classroom, but it goes beyond that. Instructor Bio - Marilyn Robb, Ph.D. is an Educational Consultant born and raised in the Caribbean. She is a university lecturer and tutor in the Education Department. She also designs and implements training and professional development workshops for teachers, parents, educators and others involved in the education process. Her experience and expertise have been gained from her consultancy work around the globe, parenting her own two children, and her love of studying. Marilyn shares her knowledge through her writing.
